where are your friends tonight?

Thank you, James Murphy, for one of the best friendship and adulthood-conflict anthem in the world.

"You spent the first five years trying to get with the plan
And the next five years trying to be with your friends again.

You drop the first ten years just as fast as you can
And the next ten people who are trying to be polite

When you're blowing eighty-five days in the middle of France
Yeah, I know it gets tired only where are your friends tonight?"

Upon my reunion with LCD Soundsystem this past week, of course I wouldn't skip one of the most paradoxical song out there. Oh I could really dedicate a single post about the band, no actually, a single post on this song, then Someone Great, then I Can Change...

Ok, let's not get ahead of ourselves now.

Truth is, now I really want to talk about friends.

I always consider myself not having many friends. Lol. For real, I have a really small circles. I don't have group friends - you know, those groups consist of five people or more and you do stuff together?

I start to sound like an alien now.

You got my point. But tonight, after a harsh experience, I came home feeling immensely grateful to realize that..

Matter of fact, I have just enough friends I can truly connect with and I can count on. And I'm telling you, it's more than enough.

So yeah, I know this song is meant to be sad and reflective and all, but,

I'm glad I'm with my friends tonight.
